We’re here to help with our comprehensive principle designer documents to assist you in discharging your duties under CDM regulations 2015.
The Principal Designer (PD) means the designer appointed to plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase and coordinate matters relating to health and safety during the pre-construction phase to ensure that, so far as is reasonably practicable, the project is carried out without risks to health or safety.
If the Commercial Client fails to appoint a Principal Designer, the Client MUST fulfill the duties of the Principal Designer.
If the Domestic Client fails to appoint a Principal Designer, the designer in control of the pre-construction phase of the project IS the Principal Designer (e.g. The Architect).
